RCS senior Adam Ragan was named Outstanding Teenager 2019 by the Roxboro Jaycees recently.
Ragan said, “My main driving force is the belief that even the small, kind gestures made by individuals can add up and amount to something even greater for our community. I want to be able to leave this world knowing that it's in a better condition than I found it.”
Every year, students from each high school in Person County are selected for the Roxboro Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Awards as an Outstanding Teenager.
Roxboro Community School’s (RCS) high school principal Darkarai Bryant explained that it is an “annual event where we recognize local leaders who strive to make their community a better place through their work, their volunteer work, and through the examples that they set.”
Of Ragan, Bryant said, “Adam is a shining example of what one can accomplish through perseverance and hard work. His time at RCS has been well spent, not only on academics, but through his leadership example. He models for other students the behaviors that lead to success.”
